Role Summary

The head of paid & social commerce is the product owner of all lower funnel and paid activities. This role is responsible for building, scaling, and owning everything related to paid media and social commerce across platforms like TikTok, YouTube, META, and other emerging channels.

You lead the full commerce stack, including TikTok Shop, live shopping, livestreaming, and performance marketing. As product owner, you set the vision, make the calls, and continuously optimize the ecosystem while leading and building a strong commerce team that delivers results consistently, or as we like to call it, our best work.

Required Skills and Experience

• Proven experience in e-commerce or performance marketing, ideally TikTok-driven
• Strong understanding of social commerce, platform native shops, live shopping, and social selling
• Experience leading performance or growth teams
• Deep knowledge of funnels, conversion, and attribution
• Ability to translate creative into revenue
• Strong analytical and financial thinking
• Experience with creators, affiliates, or influencer-led sales
• Strategic mindset with hands-on execution ability
• Ability to build systems, not just campaigns

Key Responsibilities

1. Revenue Ownership: You are accountable for the commercial performance KPI’s of all social commerce activity for our clients.
This includes:
• GMV:
     • GMV ads
     • Creator driven revenue
     • Live shopping revenue
     • Etc.
• Cost per purchase
• ROAS
• Conversion rate
• AOV

2. Strategic Partner to Founders: You act as a strategic sounding board to the founders on:
• E-commerce propositions
• Social commerce p go-to-market
• Client monetization models
• Risk vs reward on commerce investments
• New revenue streams (affiliates, creator storefronts, live formats, etc.)

You help decide and proactively give input on what is commercially worth building from a social commerce perspective.

3. Social Commerce Vision. You define what great looks like in:
• Platform native shops, like TikTok Shop
• Live shopping
• Performance-driven creator content
• Conversion-first short-form

You stay ahead of:
• Social commerce formats
• Live selling mechanics
• Platform algorithms
• Consumer buying behavior
• You embed this into how the whole team thinks.

4. Leadership of the Commerce Team. You lead and structure:
• Performance marketers
• Platform native shop operators
• Live shopping hosts & producers
• Livestream technicians
• Creator commerce managers

You define:
• Who owns what
• How handoffs work
• Where / how accountability lives
• What “good” looks like per role

No blurred lines. No orphaned KPIs.

5. Performance & Attribution. You ensure that:
• We know which content sells
• We know which creators convert
• We know which lives make money
• We know what to scale and what to kill

You build:
• Testing frameworks
• Attribution models
• Dashboards
• Weekly performance rituals

Data drives every decision.

6. Creator Commerce Strategy. You work with Creator Marketing to:
• Identify creators who sell, not just perform
• Match creators to products that convert
• Build long-term creator-commerce relationships

You define: “What makes a creator commercially valuable?”

7. Client Commercial Partner. You are the revenue brain for client, meaning:
• Translate content into sales plans
• Set realistic revenue expectations
• Build platform native shops and live strategies
• Push clients toward what makes money, not what feels safe

8. Process, Automation & Scalability. Increase margin, speed, and scale without increasing headcount at the same rate. You constantly improve:
• Fulfilment flows
• Creator onboarding
• Product feeds
• Reporting
• Affiliate tracking
• AI-driven optimizations

9. Proactive Commercial Pitches. You lead the commerce strategy in new business. You show prospects:
• How we make platform native shops profitable
• How we scale creator-led sales
• How we turn views into revenue

10. Brand Representation & Thought Leadership. You represent the agency as a leader in: Social commerce
Through:
• LinkedIn
• Events
• Panels
• Industry media

You help position us as the authority in European social commerce.

11. Platform Partnerships: Own key platform relationships (e.g. TikTok, YouTube, Meta) to secure early access to features and betas, unlock rebates and incentives, ensure presence at platform events and partner programs, and turn platform advantages into client and agency revenue.

12. Brand Lift & Measurement: Partner with platforms and performance teams to set up, run, and interpret brand lift studies, translating insights into optimization decisions and clear proof of commercial and brand impact for clients.

13. The last resort. If the system breaks, you step in. You can:
Launch a platform native shops yourself
• Run ads
• Set up live selling
• Fix tracking
• Optimize funnels
